CHEFS ACADEMY

Become a chef that inspires a New Dutch food culture

Do you want to become a chef that wants to use gastronomy as a force for good? You’re in the right place!

The Chefs Academy is a yearly program entirely devoted to sustainable gastronomy. Young chefs in training are taught by leading chefs, product developers, food scientists and farmers from home and abroad, and learn how they can contribute to a sustainable and inclusive food system from their profession.

Welcome to Low Food Chefs Academy

What is the Chefs Academy?

You’ll take part in masterclasses from the best chefs, product developers and food scientists that will truly deepen and broaden your understanding of Food. That is, you will learn about the cultural, ecological and economical stories of the plates you prep. Lessons are related to your very own cooking dreams, that we discuss in a kick-off session prior to the start of the program.

Beware: Chefs Academy links theory to practice, and the masterclasses certainly involve field excursions! Finally, you receive a ticket to the yearly Low Food Symposium upon completion of the Chefs Academy. The program’s working language is Dutch except for classes from foreign tutors in English. Please let us know if you expect that to be a barrier.

Ambassadors of Low Food

In the Chefs Academy you will learn from inspiring (international) chefs and their perspectives on food culture, gastronomy and innovation. Some of our main ambassadors are Nadia Zerouali (TV-chef, cookbook author) and Joris Bijdendijk (chef RIJKS), Samuel Levie (Food Cabinet) and Joris Lohman (Food Hub)
