Learn from the pro’s
The world of cuisine is filled with excitement and innovation, and our passionate chefs are eager to inspire you. At the Low Food Festival, we offer a menu of captivating workshops led by culinary masters. Learn the art of pastry-making from the "King of Croissants" Alexandre Scour, or delve into the perfecting of curry paste with local Dutch ingredients with Michelin-starred chef Dalad Kambhu from Kin Dee in Berlin. For those interested in capturing their culinary creations, photographer Oof Verschuren will share tips & tricks in his smartphone food photography workshop.

Mouthwatering food films
Relax and indulge in a delightful culinary movie experience curated by Cinetree exclusively for our festival. Be captivated by the hustle and bustle of the kitchen in Boiling Point (2022), followed by a talk show with comedian Howard Komproe and acclaimed chef Joris Bijdendijk, as they discuss moments when they've "cooked over". The documentary The Taste of Desire (2021) offers a spectacular insight into the journey of the oyster, and the French-Italian cult classic La Grande Bouffe (1973) serves up delectable black satire.

Culinary extravaganza and kids' cooking
A food festival wouldn't be complete without a sumptuous culinary program. Join us for lunch and dinner at WILS Restaurant & Bakery Café and explore a delightful food market, showcasing unique local products that will tantalize your taste buds. The youngest aspiring chefs can also join in the fun, learning the art of preparing a perfect egg in a workshop by the kids cooking school Sterk in Eten or embark on a flavorful adventure in a tasting with children's book author Daan Faber.

Grand opening night
Kick off the festival in style with a special opening dinner on Friday evening, curated by chef Joris Bijdendijk: "Join us for a seven-course extravaganza, served in collaboration with Amsterdam's most vibrant establishments and coolest chefs: WILS Restaurant & Bakery Café, Flore, Europa, Foer, Coulisse, Vanderveen and Choux." The evening will also feature the Dutch premiere of the film Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain (2021) and an exciting opening celebration.
